THE POLES CAME BACK TO POLAND!

Basque students were a little bit sad today because their friends came back to Poland.

Fortunately, in one month we'll meet again!

THE ASSEMBLY HOUSE BY ZIHARA AND MAIDER

THE ASSEMBLY HOUSE

You can find this building in Guernica.It was designed by the architect Antonio Echevarria .

It was build between 1824 and 1833,and is of neoclassical style.

The assembly house is the most important room and it is decorated with different paintings 

of the lords of Vizcaya. This building is the most important institution of Vizcaya and the oldest parlament in Europe.It was a place where local people from Guernica discussed questions.There s an elliptical area with seats and theres also an altar.There is a stained glass that represents the different territories of Vizcaya such as the fishing and iron and steel industry.

1-. The current building is good example of the neoclassical work and of the architect Antonio Echevarría. It assemble the Fundation of the church and Parliament.

2-. Nowaday, some political events take place herencia. Such as meeting with the Lendakari of the Basque Gobernment. Many people come to visit this place.

3-. The tree of Guernica is next to the Assembly House. That says before my clas-made Elena. Also surrounded by different types of trees.

Gernika and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe

Today it rained a little but it has been a beautiful day! We have gone by bus to Gernika and there we have visited The Assembly house, the highest governing body or Bizkaia.

Then we have visited The Tree of Gernika, the best-known symbol of the Basque People, the "Old Trunk", located in the garden and surrounded by columns is the oldest remains that have reached our times.

After this historic visit we have gone to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Gaztelugatxe is an islet on the coast of Biscay belonging to the municipality of Bermeo. It is connected to the mainland by a man-made bridge. On top of the island stands a hermitage (named Gaztelugatxeko Doniene in Basque, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Spanish), dedicated to John the Baptist.

Today we visited Cruces and we played some Basque sports:

After that, we visited The Bizkaia Bridge, one of the most important monuments of our country.
We went up to the top of the bridge on the elevator and then crossed it:

After visiting the bridge we went to Getxo:

Finally, we came back to the school and we had a party with some snacks and music:

SAN SEBASTIAN

After playing a game at the school we took the bus and we went to San Sebastian.
First of all we visited "PEINE DE LOS VIENTOS" SCULPTURE

After that we walked around "LA CONCHA" beach and we took a break on the sand:

After having lunch we visited the town hall and we ate some ice creams:

Finally, we saw the Cathedral and the Kursaal:

We had a fantastic weather and we enjoyed the trip!
